KATHLEEN A. FRANKLIN
SMYRNA – Kathleen A. Franklin, 66, of Smyrna, passed away Wednesday morning, July 9, 2014, in the Bassett Hospital of Cooperstown.
Kathleen was born in Norwich on May 1, 1948 the daughter of Morris and Mildred (Wright) Jones. She grew up in Smyrna and was a 1966 graduate of the Sherburne High School. For a period of time she had made her home on the King Settlement Road. Over the years she had worked for the Norwich Shoe Company, Shop-Vac and Service Master. In later years Kathleen worked as a home health care aide.
Kathleen enjoyed her leisure time by playing cards. She loved a good game of pitch and played often at the Norwich American Legion where she played in many pitch tournaments. She was a great fan of the St. Louis Cardinals ball team, NASCAR racing of which Ryan Newman was her favorite driver and enjoyed watching the birds, especially the cardinals, at her home.
Kathleen is survived by her children Carl Franklin of Syracuse, Timothy Franklin and companion Lynnette White of Norwich, Jamie Franklin and companion Jay Sincerbeaux of Lyons, her sisters Brenda Jones of Smyrna, Lynda Conklin of New Berlin and her brother Donald Jones of Smyrna. Also surviving are her grandchildren Amber Franklin, Jessica and Brock Sincerbeaux, the father of Kathleen’s children Clarence Franklin and her sister-in-law Bev Jones. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Morris and Mildred Jones and her brother Eugene (Gene) Jones.
Funeral services for Kathleen will be held on Monday, July 14, at 11 a.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Mayo, Pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Hamilton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Willcox Cemetery of Smyrna.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.
