JENNIE HADLEY
GUILFORD – Guilford, New York resident, Genevieve “Jennie” Hadley, 82, died June 28, 2014, at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at the Guilford Methodist Church, Guilford, New York, on July 26, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.
Mrs. Hadley was born January 1, 1932, in Binghamton, New York, to Selden and Inez Chapman.
She was married to Harold Hadley on June 6, 1951 and was married for 39 years. Mr. Hadley passed away in 1990.
Mrs. Hadley was employed with Proctor and Gamble in Norwich, New York and retired in 1990 after which she owned and operated a bed and breakfast in Guilford, New York, for 15 years.
She lived in Guilford, New York, for 46 years.
She especially enjoyed gardening and interior design.
Her family wrote: “Jennie’s generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to everyone she met. She lived her life with gentleness and will be missed by one and all.”
She is survived by her daughter Judy Zitzer of Landrum, South Carolina; daughter Linda McDougal of Columbus, South Carolina; Son-in-law John Breeden of Burnsville, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law Joann and John Bryson of Taylors, South Carolina; daughter and son-in-law Pattie and Dan Starbird of Landrum, South Carolina; grandchildren, Carley and Todd Olsen of Wheatridge, Colorado; Hadley and Mark Morales of Denver, Colorado; Jackie Baker of Landrum, South Carolina; Justin Johnson of Gainesville, Florida; Julie Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida; Jessie Johnson of Gainesville, Florida; Audrey Bryson of Taylors, South Carolina; Luke and Amy Bryson, of Greenville, South Carolina; Tyler Starbird of Landrum, South Carolina, and seven great grandchildren.
