DAVID W. HAAS
SHERBURNE ­– David W. Haas, 74, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at home with his family by his side.
He was born April 29, 1940 in Carthage, NY, a son of Woodrow Wilson (Jiggs) and Mary Esther (Halladay) Haas. He graduated from Randolph High School. On October 16, 1993, he married Edna Mae (Dolly) Cole in Hamilton. He owned Mid York Distributors a farm and barn equipment business for over 30 years.
He was a member of the bowling leagues at Hi-Skor Lanes; and a past member of the Masonic Lodge #129 in Waterville.
David is survived by his wife, Dolly; his children, Sandra Haas (Cesar Pena) NYC; Pamela Haas, Rochester, NY; and Robert Conners, Earlville, NY; step-children, Nancy (John) Snyder, Romulus, NY; Brenda (James) Taylor, Bouckville, NY; sister, Faye Helmes, Arab, AL; brother Michael (Mary) Haas, Cleveland, TN; sister-in-law, Sheila Predmore, Georgetown, NY; brother-in-law, Melvin Predmore, Sherburne, NY; 6 grandchildren, Ashlee, Brendon, Hunter, Shiana, David and Michael; 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. David had many special friends whom he considered family, Tim and Beth Greenwood, Jill Stucker, Doug and Peg Urben, Mishelle Nelson, Dee and Rick Weaver. He was predeceased by Gerald Church, Gary Helmes, Gene Predmore and Carolyn Predmore.
Memorial service: 10am Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Faith Baptist Tabernacle, Utica Rd., Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the Faith Baptist Tabernacle on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
