ROBERT COX
OXFORD – Robert G. Cox, 65, of Oxford, and more recently of Norwich, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born July 5, 1949, in Oxford, Robert was the son of Earl and Margaret (Small/Cole) Cox. He graduated from Greene Central School and worked as a laborer for several businesses and farms in the area. A very loving and devoted family man, Robert also quite enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards and watching old movies.
On July 29, 1990, Robert married Pamela (Hicks) Cox, who survives. Robert is also survived by his son, Robert G. Cox, Jr. (Courtney Badeaux), of South Otselic; grandchildren, Troy Gerald Cox and Briella Shalna; siblings Lillian Thompson, of Payson, AZ, Marilyn (Raymond) Barba, of Florence, OR, Loretta (Bob) Downey, of Norwich, NY, Bonnie Galloway, of Johnson City, NY, and Debbie (Gordon) Sutton, of East Freetown, NY. Sisters-in-law Kathy (Bill) Irwin, of Ithaca, Robin (Tom) Wright, of Oxford, Penny Wolfe, of Laurens, Luanne (Vince) Bowling, of Winston Salem, NC, Debbie (Jeff) Post of Columbus, SC and brothers-in-law Robert (Jodi) Fitch of Oxford, Scott Fitch, of Oxford, Robert (Louise) Fitch of Albany, NY and several nieces and nephews also survive. Robert was predeceased by his brother Gerald Cox, and sisters Ruth Root and Joyce Kalicicki.
Funeral services for Robert will be held at the Behe Funeral Home in Oxford at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, with Rev. Allen Lang, pastor, United Church of Oxford, officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery in Oxford.
