Marilyn Hickson Joslin, 86, former longtime Norwich resident and most recently of Nassau, NY, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, June 11, 2014, at the home of her grandson, John Barrows, in Nassau.
Marilyn was born in Walworth, Wis. on April 1, 1928 the daughter of William and Edith (Heitzman) Merrill. She came to the Norwich area in 1946 where she gained employment with GLA and it’s many successors working for over 31 years as an assembler.
Marilyn is survived by her grandchildren John Barrows, Andrew and Allison Everard, her great grandchildren Kelsey Barrows, John Barrows Jr. and Ariebella Barrows. Also surviving are her step children Joan Anderson, Margaret (Peggy) Stringham and husband Don, Michael Joslin and wife Ginger and her brother William Hickson and wife Leola. Several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Marilyn was predeceased by her daughter Mary Everard, her husbands Wilson (Benny) Mercurio and Milo Joslin as well as her two brothers Robert and Ronald Hickson.
A funeral service for Marilyn will be held on Thursday, June 19, at 12:00 Noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Very Rev. Charles Taylor, Episcopal Clergy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at noon.
