LAWRENCE (BUB) MURRAY, JR.
Lawrence (Bub) George Murray Jr., 67 passed away the morning of June 1, 2014 with his family by his side.
Bub was born in Norwich, NY on August 6, 1946; the son of Genevieve (Rogers) and Lawrence George Murray Sr. After high school Bub enlisted in the Army and was a decorated veteran with numerous awards of valor due to his sacrifice and time in Vietnam. Later he ran his own logging business for 30 years and worked for Raymond’s Corporation in Greene, NY.
Bub was a dedicated man to his family and those he cared about. His love for his family remained strong right to the end. He also enjoyed his time working in his wood shop making many items for family and friends with his faithful best friend; George, by his side. Anywhere Bub was, his little cocker spaniel was no more than a few feet from him. Bub and Alice shared a blessed life with many years of memories.
On February 22, 1969 Bub married Alice (Wadsworth) Murray.
Bub is survived by his wife Alice (Wadsworth) Murray of Norwich, his daughters Kellie Romero, her husband Jose Romero of AZ, and Colleen Murray of Norwich, two granddaughters, Mallory Tolp of AZ, and Brianna Lowe of Norwich, one grandson Alexander Romero of AZ.
Bub is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Pricilla and Robert Snell of GA, John (Butch) and Suzanne Murray of NC, Mike and Helen Murray of Norwich, Anita and Andy Grossi of Cortland, and Jack and Joie Murray of TN, his best friend George, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and brother and sister in-laws.
Bub was predeceased by his parents Genevieve (Rogers) and Lawrence George Murray Sr., his infant brother Ricky Murray, and several very cherished Uncles.
Due to Bub’s wishes there will be no formal services; cremation service handled by Johnston Funeral Home, Morris, NY.
