Joyce Ann Fuller


Joyce Ann Fuller, 79, of East Main St, passed away Tuesday. May 20, 2014 at the Harding Nursing Home in Waterville.
She was born July 26, 1934 in Smyrna, a daughter of Edward and Marion Riggle Kunkel and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On June 6, 1953, Joyce Ann married Hartley Fuller in Smyrna. A lifelong Smyrna village resident, she was the Village Clerk and Treasurer for 43 years until her retirement. Her family was her greatest joy and she was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and “Face Booking” with family and friends.
Joyce Ann was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church where she had served as treasurer for many years. She also taught Sunday school and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Smyrna Fire Department Auxiliary and the Smyrna Grange.
Surviving are her husband of over 60 years, Hartley; her children Roy and Laura Fuller of Norwich; Brad and Robin Fuller of Sayre, PA; Gene and Catherine Fuller of Smyrna; a brother-in-law, Jerry Fuller of AZ; sisters-in-law, Donna Kunkel of SC; Marilyn Fuller of Smyrna; and Edna Buddle of Sherburne; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and two expected great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, William Kunkel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 from the Smyrna Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Button and her grandson-in-law, James Darling co-officiating.
Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Johns Hopkins University Vasculitis Center, 5200 Eastern Ave., MFL Center Tower Suite 356, Baltimore, MD 21224 (indicate JA Fuller in memo line); the Smyrna Baptist Church, or the Smyrna Emergency Squad.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY.
