John Biviano


JOHN S. BIVIANO
NORWICH – John S. Biviano, 85 of Norwich, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on May 4, 2014 at Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Norwich. He was born on June 7, 1928 in Norwich a son of the late John F. and Nancy (Reitano) Biviano. On October 25, 1972 he married Florence Burlingame Pike.
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Norwich, his children, Jim and Linda Biviano of Norwich, Paul Biviano of Texas, Nancy Biviano of Binghamton, Richard Biviano of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Stephen and Lori Biviano of Norwich; his step children, Robert and Judy Pike of Oklahoma, Marilyn Morey of Florida, Donald and Barbara Pike of South Carolina, and Claudia and Edward Burghard of Loveland, Ohio. Grandchildren Brittany, Ashley, Nathan and Andrew, and a great-granddaughter Natalie also survive him. He was predeceased by his son David Biviano.
John was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School, Class of 1945. He also graduated from CCBI in Syracuse. He was employed by several auto dealerships in Oxford, Norwich, Binghamton and Syracuse as comptroller. He was a member of All Saints RC Church in Syracuse for many years and served as a greeter, usher and on the Parish Council. He was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. He was an avid baseball fan, especially the Boston Red Sox. He was a supporting member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s RC Church, State St., Oxford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford on Thursday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
