Mrs. Beatrice Ann Brownell Crowell, age 78, of Villa Rica, passed away, Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She was born June 15, 1935 in South New Berlin, NY, the daughter of the late Mr. Max Eugene Brownell, Sr. and the late Mrs. Alice Mathewson Brownell from New Berlin, NY. She lived most of her early years in the New Berlin and South New Berlin area and attended school at South New Berlin High School. Beatrice worked many years alongside her parents in various restaurants they owned and worked at various other places over the years. Beatrice was married to Alan Merton Taylor of South New Berlin and moved to South Edmeston, NY and bore three children. They later divorced and she moved to Earlville, NY, where she met and married the love of her life, Irwin Preston Crowell, II. Irwin had five children and they became the “Crowell Bunch”. After they married, they moved their family to Atlanta, GA and later to Villa Rica, GA where they raised their eight children. Beatrice worked at Wal-Mart in Carrollton, GA, for 22 Years and retired. The most important thing to her through was her family and her beloved husband, Irwin. Their home was always open to anyone in need.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Preston Crowell, II on July 2, 1993; three children, Joan Delight, Barry Eugene Crowell and Vickie Lou Price; brothers, Clarence ”Red” Brownell, Alfred Brownell, and Max “Brownie” Brownell and sister, Sharon “Penny” Brownell.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Bonnie Taylor of Villa Rica, Wendy and Keith Gentry of Villa Rica; sons and daughters-in-law, Irwin Preston “Rick” and Bonnie Crowell, III of Earlville, NY, Kennedy “Kenny” Crowell of Gainesville, GA, Lash Alan “Skip” and Pat Taylor of Sherburne, NY; sisters, Millie Card of Del Rios, TX; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Brownell of New Berlin, NY and Bernice Brownell of New Berlin of NY; six grandchildren, Stacey Nadeane and Mike Maddox of Villa Rica, Ricky and Loretta Crowell of Sherburne, NY, Rhonda and Chris Davis of Morrisville, NY, Deana and Jason Britt, Goldsboro, NC, Mick Price of Magnolia, NC, Eric and Jon Crowell of Carrollton; thirteen great grandchildren, Andrew Gaytan of Villa Rica, Brandon Gaytan of Villa Rica, Thomas Richardson of Villa Rica, Preston Crowell of Sherburne, NY, Joy Davis of Morrisville, NY, Priscilla Davis of Morrisville, NY, McKenzie Crowell of Carrollton, Levi Britt of Goldsboro, NC, Jason Britt of Goldsboro, NC, Ava Britt of Goldsboro, NC, Jake Britt of Goldsboro, NC, Jase Britt of Goldsboro, NC, and Lolly Britt of Goldsboro, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Minister Billy Kaylor officiating.
