BARBARA MAHON
BAINBRIDGE – Barbara Mahon, 74, of Bainbridge, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 in the Norwich Rehab. and Nursing Center of Norwich,
Barb was born in Castle Creek on March 19, 1939 the daughter of Claude and Emma Whitehead Riker. She has lived all of her life in the Bainbridge and Afton area and for the past 11 years has made her home in Paddock Park of Bainbridge. Over the years she had worked as a cook at the Mason Inn of Masonville.
A kind and generous person, Barb always had a sense of humor and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Barb is survived by her children John Sherman and wife Tonya of Salisbury, NC, Rachel Everitt of Oxford, Timothy Wilber of Bainbridge and James Wilber of Smyrna, her companion of many years Karl Schrier of Hancock and her brothers Albert Riker of Afton and Claude “Bill” Riker Jr. of Burlington. Also survivng are 9 grandchildren, neices and nephews.
Barb was predeceased by a daughter Juanita Acker, her sisters Ruth Gorman and Hattie Chamberlain and her brother Donald Riker.
At Barb’s request there will be no formal services.
There will be an informal gathering held on Friday, March 14, 2014, at 3 p.m. from the Oxford American Legion.
