Leon T. Cross, 68, passed on, after a sudden heart issue, on March 3, 2014.
He was born May 12, 1945, in Brookfield, a son of Harry and Eleanor Roberts Cross. Leon met his wife-to-be, Susan DeMott, while attending Sherburne School. They were married at the Sherburne Episcopal Church on December 9, 1968. Mr. Cross was a member of Faith Baptist Tabernacle Church in Sherburne. He was employed by O. W. Hubbell, and recently by Utica Observer-Dispatch. Leon enjoyed camping, walking his dog Gracie, and being a great friend to everybody.
Besides his wife, Susan, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and James Sepello, Waterville, and Karen Cross, Whitesboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Hermie, Ligonier, IN, James and Larinda, Otselic, and Joseph and Megan, North Syracuse; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Clara Ortolano; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Gail, Ray and Juanita, John and Darlene, Jeff and Patricia, and Grant and Sue; sister-in-law, Berna; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Richard, and an infant sister, Elizabeth.
Calling hours will be Saturday, 1-3 p.m. at Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, Forty Main Street, Whitesboro. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. Interment in Earlville Cemetery will be in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the discretion of the family.
Leon has continued to help people by being an organ donor.
