MARJORIE JACKSON
NORWICH – Marjorie E. Jackson, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Binghamton.
Born May 16, 1921, in Norwich, NY, Marjorie was the daughter of Victor and Ethel (Hicks) Armondi. On December 24, 1939, she married Holden Jackson, who predeceased her on January 8, 1984. Marge was a devoted wife and mother, and stayed home while raising her five children.
Despite how busy she was raising her children, Marge still found time to enjoy her many hobbies. She was an able guitarist and pianist, which she used to play often for her children. She also loved to square dance, and was gifted at cooking and baking for her family and friends. Gardening was one of Marge’s favorite past times. She is also known for her love of laughter.
Marge is survived by her children, Mary Husted and her husband, Rusty; Thomas Jackson and his wife, Susan; Kathleen Jackson, all of Norwich; and Daniel Jackson and his wife, Tommye, of Gulfport, MS. Also surviving are her eleven grandchildren, Scott Burlison and Andy Burlison, Andrew and Amanda Jackson, Brandon and Christopher Jackson, Nathan, Nancy, Suzanne, James and Gary. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Marge was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Carmen, and three brothers, Robert, Donald and Richard Armondi.
Funeral services for Marge will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Wilson Funeral Home where Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00. Burial will take place in the spring at Deer Pond Cemetery in North Pharsalia.
