Arnold Whitehill


OXFORD – Arnold G. Whitehill, 62, formerly of Oxford and most recently of Unadilla, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in the Buffalo General Hospital.
The son of Arnold and Helen Marzzula Whitehill, Arnold was born in Lyme, N.H. in September of 1946. He had lived in Oxford for over 25 years prior to moving to Unadilla. Throughout his adult life, for over 30 years, he had worked for the railroad, first the Erie Lackawanna, then ConRail, and lastly the NYS&W, from which he retired as division manager. In Mt. Upton on Dec. 15, 1973, Arnold married Marta Alger.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Marta Whitehill; by his children: Trent, Travis and Arnold Whitehill III, Jamie Supensky, and their families; by his sisters: Antonio Gascon, Stella Ryan and Lona Hartwell; by his brothers Sheldon and Henry Whitehill; and by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At Arnold’s request, there will be no calling hours nor formal service. Those wishing to remember Arnold with a memorial contribution are asked to send it to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790, with memo “contribution to Buffalo Hope Lodge.”
Arrangements are by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
