Eva Bach


Eva Bach of Savoy, Illinois passed away on February 17, 2014. She was born in August 31, 1926 in Wolfenbuettel, Germany, the daughter of Clara and Berthold Moses. The family immigrated to the U.S. in 1938, escaping the Holocaust, settling in New York City. She married Max Dieter Bach in 1952 in Brooklyn, and moved with him to Norwich, NY in 1954. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, leaving her sister, Theresa Lapidus of Nashville, TN; her daughters, Joan (Walter) Tousey of Champaign, IL and Suzanne (James) Famolaro, as well as grandson David Proudfoot and Granddaughters Deborah Angel, BeLinda Walraven, and Liza Summers. Four great grandsons and two great granddaughters, nieces, nephews and cousins were also important in Eva's life. A celebration of life will be held later in the spring. Eva loved the visual and performing arts, enjoying classical music, Vermeer paintings, and fine sculpture in particular. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts via the University of Illinois Foundation, or a charity or your choice.
