MARION E. EGGLESTON
SMYRNA – Marion E. Eggleston, 71, of Brookins Rd., passed away on Friday February 14, 2014 at her home.
She was born November 18, 1942 in Norwich, a daughter of the late Frederick and Ruth Georgia Jaycox. She was a graduate of Norwich High School and the Binghamton Business School. On September 23, 1967, Marion married William J. “Bill” Eggleston in Norwich. Marion had worked for the F.W. Woolworth Co. at one time, and did child care in her home for 27 years. She later worked for Super Samples at Price Chopper for over 16 years. Above all, Marion was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose family was her greatest joy.
Marion was a member of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Oriskany Falls. She had taught Sunday schools and sang in the choir. She enjoyed shopping, dining out and watching her favorite TV show “Days of Our Lives”. She also loved going on cruises.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Bill; her children, Wayne and Penny Eggleston, Scott Eggleston, Tammy and Terry Powell, all of Smyrna; and three grandchildren, Alicia, Spencer and Addison.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Burial in Willcox Cemetery will be in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
