Connie Brienza


Connie Brienza, 59, long time Norwich resident and Norwich City School District bus driver, passed away at the Chenango Memorial Hospital Weds., February 12, 2014.
A daughter of Corey and Mable Hart, Connie was born June 15, 1954 in DeRuyter. Although Connie spent several years delivering the Press and Sun Newspaper her main passion and the job that she found the most fulfillment in was driving the area children to school for the Norwich City Schools as a bus driver. Driving the children around was not the only thing Connie liked about her job as she had always thoroughly enjoyed the annual bus driver Christmas party and had driven in the bus rodeo a few times. Connie always made sure to enjoy her life the best way she seen fit and in doing so she met her husband Tim whom she married on the April 16, 2005. Together the two of them shared the love for and raised their miniature pincher Sasha. Connie and Tim shared a passion for cooking and cooked many different dishes, of which Connie is most known for her baked beans.
Connie is survived by; her husband Tim of Norwich and his three children; Timothy (Courtney) Brienza of Connecticut, Brittany Brienza of Connecticut, and Katlyn Radicchi of Connecticut and their three children. Also surviving are: her mother Mable of Norwich, her sisters; Rose Anne (Frederick) Shaw of North Carolina, Carol Lambert of Norwich, Sara Burlison of Norwich, and Gloria (Kris Smith) Hart of Morrisville, and her brother Leon Hart of Earlville. Several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins also survive, of which there were some special nieces and a nephew that she helped to raise as if they were her own. They are Cody Warner of North Carolina, Rachel Pickett of North Carolina, Mellissa Goodman of South Carolina, Dion Pickett of Missouri, Audra Tognoni of North Carolina, Kendal Pickett of Missouri, Rhoth Smith of Morrisville, and Molly Smith of Morrisville. Connie was predeceased by: her father Corey, a sister Joan Duguay, and a brother Charles Hart.
Calling Hours for Connie will be held on Tuesday evening, February 18, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich, New York. As per Connie’s request there will be no formal funeral services.
The family has requested that instead of sending flowers; please make a donation to any cancer awareness program of your choosing in Connie’s memory.
