CHARLES E. BICE
EARLVILLE – Charles E. Bice, 58, of South Hamilton Rd., passed away Tuesday, January 28 2014 at his home.
He was born October 7, 1955 in Norwich, a son of the late Charles D. and Esther M. Fairbanks Bice. He was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School in 1974, and attended Onondaga Community College. Most recently, he had spent many years as a self-employed auctioneer. He had previously worked at several area companies including Cheseborough Ponds, Rendering Works and M & L Trucking. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. Spending time with family and friends at social events, and going to flea markets were some of his favorite activities. He raised Pomeranians who were his special companions, Sadie Mae, Cuddles, Dexter, Bear, Boss, Wee Wee, M & M, Buckwheat and Midnight. Charles was married to the former Susan Oatman from 1974 to 2010.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer Palmer of Sherburne; Charles E., Jr. and Jackie Bice of Hockley, TX; and Elizabeth Johnson of Earlville; grandchildren: Louis Brigham, Jessica Brigham, Alen Palmer, David Brigham, Darin Bice, Adam Palmer, Carson Winton, Cameron Winton and Jordyn Bice; great-grandchildren, Landon, Levi and Luke Brigham; Jason Vest; David Brigham, Jr. and Sophia Brigham; his sisters, Barbara Hill of Pine Woods; Ruth (Sidney) Plows of Sherburne; a brother, David Bice of Norwich.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
