MARLENE WALKER
NORWICH – Marlene Frances Walker, 65, of Norwich, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2014, in the Valley View Manor Nursing Home of Norwich.
Born in Sidney in October of 1948, Marlene was a daughter of Julius and Ida Burton White. She grew up in Unadilla where she attended the local schools. After her school years, Marlene lived for a time in New Berlin, and was employed at that time by the local branch of Technical Appliance Corp. (TACO). She later relocated to Norwich where she had made her home for the past 15 years, and worked for the Norwich Shoe Company.
On February 25, 1984, Marlene married George Walker, who predeceased her on Nov. 27, 2012. She is survived by her son, Douglas Wildenstein of Greene; her brothers, Paul Hamilton of Sidney and Ken Hamilton of Little River, SC; and by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Marlene's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wed., January 29, 2014, from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home. Rev. David Spiegel, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be later and at the convenience of Marlene's family.
