EDWIN P. HENSCHEL
SHERBURNE – Edwin P. Henschel, 83 of Sherburne died Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Cooperstown, NY after a short illness. Born in New York City in 1930, he was the son of Herbert and Viola Palmer Henschel. He leaves behind a loving wife of 37 years, Mary Christine (Hinkley) Henschel of Sherburne, NY and a daughter, Martha Henschel of Norwich, NY.
Edwin attended the Riverdale Country School before proudly serving in the Army. He was a plant engineer with Jones Instrument Company in Stamford, CT and former owner of Emerson’s Boat Livery in Long Lake, NY. He had lived in New Rochelle and Fairfield, CT.
A former member of Temple Israel in New Rochelle, he was a current member of the Norwich Jewish Center.
Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves a brother and sister-in law, Lawrence and Anita Henschel of Jupiter, FL; two nephews, Steven Henschel of Franklin, TN and Ken Henschel of Tigard, OR; several cousins and a large extended family.
There are no calling hours, and memorial services will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St. Sherburne.
