MARLENE BUTTON
NORWICH – Marlene “Molly” A. (Wilbur) Button,78, of Norwich, passed away early Saturday morning, Jan. 11, 2014, on the Senior Living floor of the Chenango Memorial Hospital from natural cause.
Born in Norwich on Aug. 14, 1935, Molly was the daughter of Louise (Starr) Smith and Bill Wilbur, Sr. She graduated from the Norwich High School in 1955. Following her high school education, Molly became a mother and housewife to her children as she followed her husband to Germany whom was in the service. In the mid-1960’s, Molly moved back to Norwich on Hickory St., where she continued to raise her family in her childhood home. Molly entered the work force and became a housekeeper for the New York State Veterans Home of Oxford and soon after for the Chenango Memorial Hospital where she spent the remainder of her work career until her retirement. During Molly’s retirement she greatly enjoyed reading, going for walks, barbequing with her family, taking trips to the local Tops Markets to have coffee with friends and of course adding to her notorious frog collection.
Molly is survived by her children, Carolyn Howe, Linda Clemens, Donna King, Richard F. Button, Jr. all of Norwich, Larry Button of WI and her grandchildren, Taryn Howe of Norwich, Amy Clemens of NC, Dale Clemens, Jr., of Norwich, Melissa Clemens of Norwich, Daniel Clemens of Norwich, Mary-Elizabeth Heidamos and Joshua Heidamos of FL, Amanda Marji of CA, Nikki Miller of Norwich and Crystal Button of Ca. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and one nephew. Molly was predeceased by her father Bill Wilbur Sr., her mother Louise (Starr) Smith, step-father Arthur Ur Smith, her brother Bill Wilbur, Jr. and her daughters Julie Heidamos and Lori Clemens.
A funeral service for Molly will be held on Wed., Jan. 15, at noon from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Earlville will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Wed. from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
