RUBY LEIB
NORWICH – Ruby C. Leib, 90, a longtime Norwich resident, passed away Monday evening, Dec. 23, 2013 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Ruby was born in Greenville, OH on July 30, 1923 the daughter of James P. and Margaret Lambert Myers. She has made her home in Norwich since 1941 and on Jan. 19, 1946 in St. Paul’s Church she married Lewis F. Leib who passed away Jan. 24, 1967. While making her home in Norwich she had worked for the Norwich Shoe Co. for 39 years.
Ruby was all about family which was first and foremost in her life. She was a very loving and giving person who had a strong will and was very independent. In her quiet times she enjoyed sewing, especially embroidery.
Ruby is survived by her children Laurie (Dale) Kenyon of McDonough, Sue (Arlen) Bresee of Norwich, Carol (Harold) Syster also of Norwich, Fredrick J. Leib of So. Plymouth and her daughter-in-law Nina Leib of Norwich. Also surviving is her brother Chalmer Myers of Greenville, OH, 11 grandchildrn, 16 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Lewis, Ruby was predeceased by a sister Doris Myers.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruby will be held on Monday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church of Norwich. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery of Emmons, NY
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-9 p.m.
