GORDON SKINNER
NORWICH – Gordon A. (Eyeore) Skinner, 57, of Norwich, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 at his home.
Gordon was born in Binghamton on June 7, 1956 the son of Hilton and Gertrude Fowler Skinner. He grew up in the Binghamton area and attended the Chenango Valley High School from which he graduated in 1975. While in school he had taken a course in locksmithing with the bell saw. Gordon had been employed by Atwood’s Tool & Machine in Chenango Bridge for 13 years and later for the Press & Sun Bulletin for 8 years. He enjoyed going camping, hunting, NASCAR and bowling. He also enjoyed doing odd jobs around the house and helping family and friends when needed.
On Dec. 1, 1989 he married Sarah Beckwith who survives.
Besides his wife Sarah of Norwich, he is survived by his son Joshua (Tonya) Skinner of Johnson City, his granddaughter Arya Skinner, a special little girl Shania Coish, his brothers Raymond (Millie) Skinner of Hillcrest, Lynn (Maddie) Skinner of OH and Phillip (Maria) Skinner of Hillcrest. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A funeral service for Gordon will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at noon from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home. Pastor James McLaughlin of the New Beginnings Church of Norwich will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
