HARRY ROSE
NEW BERLIN ­­– Harry D. Rose, 90 yrs old of New Berlin, NY passed away quietly on Sunday, December 15, 2013.
Born May 26, 1923, he was the third son of Ernest and Lula Palmer Rose.
He attended school in Pittsfield and graduated from New Berlin Central School. In 1943, he married Leslae Johnston.
Over the years, he farmed, worked in trucking, worked at Scintilla and at Dexheimers, served on the Pittsfield Town Board and later worked as an auto mechanic, finally running Rose’s Gulf Stations in both New Berlin and Sherburne until his retirement.
He and Leslae were blessed to enjoy many years of retirement, traveling throughout the country in a motorhome and making many new friends.
In August 2013, he and Leslae celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, sharing the day with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by one daughter, Helen Ardiles-Arce and elder brother, Robert Rose of New Berlin. Surviving him are his wife, son Donald (& Brenda) Rose, daughters; Lee Eagleston, Mary Rose, Debra (& Doug) Lewis and grandchildren; Chris (& Kim) Rose, Breah (& Aaron) May, Ben (& Noelle) Lewis, Leanna, Gretta, Heidi, Haeleah, and Hannah Lewis and great grandchildren; Izack, Kooper and Shelby Rose and Arianna, Baylor and Emeline Lewis. He is also survived by his older brother, Willis Rose and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
