William Joseph Yerton, 29, of New Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 2, 2013 at his home.
He was born August 25, 1984 in Poughkeepsie, NY where he lived and received his early education until the third grade. He moved to Sherburne with his family, and later to New Berlin as an adult. William was a member of the New Berlin Fire Department and the New Berlin Ambulance Service where he was a NYS Certified EMT. He had served in the U.S. Air Force.
William’s world revolved around his son, Tyler, and his friends and family. He was a generous soul who gave his time and resources to those who needed anything.
Surviving are his son, Tyler Yerton of New Berlin; his mother, Sandra Hodge Jenne Yerton Barden and step-father, Ernest of Smyrna; his siblings, Kenneth (Chantel) Yerton of Opelousas, LA; Walter Yerton of New Berlin; Bridgett (Fred) Edelman of Manlius; niece, Katelyn Bassett of Cuyler; maternal grandmother, Dorothy (Marv) Jantzen of Earlville; great-grandmother, June Jeffrey; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-5 p.m. prior to the service.
