Sarah Jensen


Sarah Jensen, 94, of Norwich, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 17, 2013, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Sarah was born on the family farm in the Town of Kortright on June 13, 1919 the daughter of Roman and Amelia Lisiesky. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class in Bloomville, NY On June 25, 1938 in South Kortright she married Robert Hans Jensen who passed away Dec. 6, 1980. In 1958 Sarah moved with her family to the Norwich area where they made their home for many years.
Sarah was a very gifted and multi talented individual in the area of arts and crafts. Over the years she created paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylic and on china. To this day her family holds many of her works close to their heart. When it came time to prepare a meal, Sarah again put her talents to work be it a traditional or polish feast.
Sarah is survived by her children Judith (Judy) Thornton and husband Howard of Norwich, Philip Jensen and wife Dawn of Delhi, her sister Agatha Natoli of PA and her brother Andrew Lisiesky and wife Betty of Chenango Bridge. Also surviving are her 6 grandchildren, Scott Jensen and wife Eleanor, Chris Jensen, Jennifer Graham and husband Jeff, Keri Collins and husband Jim, Keith Thornton and wife Tracey, Jeffrey Thornton, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Robert, Sarah was predeceased by her sisters Virginia Lafferee, Stella Sprague, Anna McLean and her brothers James, Steve, Marion and Marshall Lisiesky.
A funeral service for Sarah will be held on Friday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Lawrence Russell, Pastor of the Plymouth United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the South Side Cemetery of Plymouth.
Friends may call at theR.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
