Marietta Snedaker

ENDICOTT – Marietta Howard Snedaker was born in White Creek, on Sept. 6, 1922, to Earle and Lettie Howard. On July 11, 2009, she departed this earth to return to home to her heavenly Father.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Rev. L. Elmo Snedaker, her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Robert Bolin and son-in-law, Frederick Andrews.
Surviving her are her children, Rev Viki Andrews, Willseyville; Reid (MaryJo) Snedaker, Colgate, Wisc.; Barton (Robert Evans) Snedaker, Norwich; Lynn (Anne) Snedaker, Ovid; Becky Becker, Cincinnati, Ohio; Lori (William) Lavine, Richford; Carla Bolin, Evansville, Ind.
Though Marietta loved all sixteen of her grandchildren dearly, two of her grandsons, Russell Becker and Barrett (Annette) Snedaker, were particularly close, having resided with her and helped care for her at different times over the last few years. Also surviving her are eighteen great-grandchildren and her sisters, Margaret Perry, Eagle Bridge; and Rachel Dunham, Campbellsville, Kent. along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
Marietta was very active in the United Methodist Church during her life, serving with her husband in many charges in the area and was the epitome of a pastor’s wife, supportive but never interfering, her specialty being Christian education. She held positions in the Binghamton District and the Wyoming Conference for many years. However, Campville United Methodist Church had been her home for over sixty years, where she served as organist, choir member, Sunday school teacher, administrative Board and UMW(WSCS) member.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Campville United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on July 18 with Rev. William Prentice officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Campville United Methodist Church, 6110 State Rte. 17c, Endicott, NY 13760; Campville Emergency Squad, 6153 State Rte. 17c Endicott, NY 13760; or the charity of your choice.
