A. James Schibeci

NORWICH – Funeral services for A. James “Skip” Schibeci were held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at St. Bartholomew’s Church where the retired Rev. Alfred Bebel celebrated a Mass of Resurrection.
The Mass began with blessings offered for Skip by Rev. Bebel.  As the service proceeded, a great musical tribute was paid to Skip by his sister, vocalist and soloist, Bertha DeFonzo, his life-long friend, organist Mary Ward and the combined choirs of St. Bartholomew’s and St. Paul’s Churches.
The readings for the Mass were proclaimed by Skip’s Aunt, Angie Natoli and long time friend, Robert Palamaro. The offertory gifts were presented by relatives Tom and Tina Mirabito, Fred Mirabito and Peter V. Smith.  Don Chirlin spoke in remembrance of Skip’s beautiful life.  Jane Casamento served as Eucharistic Minister and a cousin, George Zieno, was the altar server.
Skip’s wife, Patricia, niece Cynthia Scully Beattie, nephew Andrew Scully, brothers-in-law David F. and Charles R. Scully escorted Skip past his many friends and relatives to receive his final blessings from Father Bebel as the Mass of Resurrection for A. James “Skip” Schibeci ended.
The arrangements were under the direction of the Wilson Funeral Home.
