Albert Dennison


NORWICH – Albert Claude Dennison, 96, of Norwich, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Albert was born on Dec. 10, 1912 in Norwich. He was the son of Claude Dennison and Winifred Wuest. Albert and Grace B. Dennison were married Aug. 21, 1937. Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife Grace, who passed away April 4, 1991.
Albert was survived by his daughter Linda K. Dennison, Norwich; three sisters, Naomi Burt, Danville, Kent.; Marie Broadbent, South New Berlin and Patricia Kuhn, Morris. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Harry Dennison; four sisters: Beatrice Dennison, Kathleen Sawiki, Mildred Morell and Beverly Wright.
Albert was stationed in Panama until his discharge from the Army in 1934. Albert worked at Bennett Ireland until he became self employed building Ford Homes and doing construction work in the area. Albert retired in 1977 from Unison. Albert was an avid fisherman and hunter and was very active in the community belonging to various organizations. Albert was a long time animal lover and supported the local SPCA.
Calling hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday with the funeral immediately following the calling hours at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, Norwich.
Please make contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich. This organization was a huge help to Albert and his daughter during his struggle with Alzheimers.
