John Honeywell


NEW BERLIN – John Honeywell, 62, of Chestertown, Md., died June 17, 2009 in Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
Mr. Honeywell was born on March 19, 1947 in New Berlin, son of the late James W. and Doris Reed Honeywell. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard for 5 years and with the U.S. Army Reserve Military Police from 1977 to 1998 retiring at the rank of MSGT. He was a Lieutenant with Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for 26 years, retiring in 1999.  After retirement he moved to Chestertown working as a driver for Queen Anne’s County and Traffic Control Officer for the Town of Chestertown. 
 His memberships include President of the Kent County Sons of the American Revolution, St. Andrew’s Society of Baltimore, Fraternal Order of Police, American Legions in New York and Maryland, and the American Red Cross in Kent County where he was a disaster volunteer.
 Mr. Honeywell is survived by his wife of 38 years Theresa ‘Terry’ Fritsch Honeywell; two daughters, Anne Marie Honeywell of Parkville, Md. and Kathleen D. Honeywell of Frostburg, Md.; two brothers, Jeffrey Alan Honeywell of Lompoc, Calif., and James R. Honeywell of Silver Spring, Md., and a sister Marcia M. Foote of Morris.
 Friends may call on Sunday, June 21, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md.  Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22 at 2 p.m. in St. Paul’s Kent, 7579 Sandy Bottom Rd. Chestertown, MD.
