Casey Marks

MT. UPTON – Casey Thomas Marks, 27, a native of Mt. Upton, and resident of the Hampton, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006. Casey was a marine construction worker with Patrick White Marine Construction Co. He served with the United States Navy for four years, traveling all over the world. He was an avid sports enthusiast, and was quite the “fisherman.” Casey loved the water, boats, and anything that involved the bay. He enjoyed playing the guitar, going to concerts and anything involving music. Casey was truly a people person and very passionate about his family and friends.
Casey had an insatiable zest for life and always lived each day to the fullest. He was never judgmental or critical and always saw the good in people. He taught us all so many life lessons and would like us all to remember that you should never judge a book by its cover. He will surely be missed and always be loved.
Casey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Mae Farnen, and paternal grandfather, Theodore Marks. He is survived by his parents, Teressa and Peter Marks of Mt. Upton; two sisters, Brindy Nichols and her husband, Thomas, and a nephew, Ayden Nichols, all of Waldmohr, Germany, and Erin Marks of Ballston Spa; a paternal grandmother, Mary Marks of Mt. Upton; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Sidney United Methodist Church, Liberty St., Sidney, by the Rev. Barbara Green. Friends may call after the service at the Mt. Upton Fire Department. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the “Casey Marks Memorial Fund”, c/o to Peter & Teressa, 875 County Road #37, Mt. Upton, N.Y. 13809.
