Jane earned a BS in education from Buffalo State Teachers College and taught in a two room school house prior to her marriage.
On August 2, 1941 she married Clare Greydon (Charlie) Stillinger. They had an active life together and traveled throughout Canada and the United States including a camping trip to Alaska. Charlie died May 25, 1971.
Jane lived in Medina most of her life.  She moved to Golden Age Apartments in Norwich in 1999 to be closer to her family. She has been in the Gilmour Health Care Facility since December 15.  She was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church and the YMCA.
Jane had a strong faith and a positive approach to life. She greeted everyone with a smile.  She made many friends through church and swimming and playing bridge.  She was known as the ‘Poetry Lady,’ and inspired many with her poems.

A celebration of Jane’s life and her memorial service will be held at the Broad Street United Methodist Church on May 9 at 1 p.m.  The family would also like to invite friends to celebrate Jane’s life in the Fellowship Hall of the church following the memorial service.
