Larry Whitehill


OXFORD – Larry A. Whitehill, 65, of Oxford, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, peacefully at his home after a courageous battle with ALS.
Larry was born September 10, 1943, in Charlotteville, the son of the late Arnold and Helen Whitehill.
He was married to Carol A. Carr on November 8, 1964.
Larry owned his own business doing excavating for many years and is a former member of the Teamsters Union. He was born in the area and then relocated to central Ill. for 16 years before returning to Oxford.
He is survived by his wife, Carol A. Whitehill; his sons, Gary and Janet Whitehill of Oxford, Kevin and Jeanne Whitehill of Cooksville, Ill.; his daughter, Wendy and her fiance Kevin O’Malley of Kingsley, Pa.; grandsons, David, Curtis, Jacob and Kevyn; granddaughters, Kelli and Shayna; brothers, Arnold Whitehill, Jr., Sheldon Whitehill and Hank Whitehill; his sisters, Stella Ryan, Antonia Gascon and Lona Hartwell along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sister-in-law and his loyal companion Hooch.
Larry was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Hasnel Whitehill.
Friends are invited to call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Westcott Funeral Home, Inc., 123 Main St. Unadilla.
Arrangements are by the Westcott Funeral Home Inc., Unadilla.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Oxford Emergency Squad and/or the Chenango County Hospice.
