NORWICH – Brian E. Hoag, 53, of Norwich, passed away Friday evening, April 10, 2009, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Brian was born in Norwich, the son of Douglas and Jacqueline Landry Hoag, in September of 1955. He grew up in Norwich, where he attended the Norwich schools. On Dec. 26, 1981 in LaFayette he married Pamela Pauls, who survives. Throughout his life, Brian was always mechanically inclined, having worked for Bilow’s Garage, Smith-Ford, Anderson motors and Montgomery Ward and in later years, he worked as a self employed mechanic. A lover of the outdoors, Brian was an avid hunter and fisherman and could often be seen with a fresh catch of fish.
Brian is survived by his wife Pamela; his daughter Amy Hoag; his son Jonathan Hoag and his fiancee Jennifer Bartle; his parents Douglas and Jacqueline Hoag, all of Norwich; and his brother Kevin Hoag and companion Betsy McCormack of South Plymouth. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Brian will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas Cunningham will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of the service at 7 on Thursday at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
