Patricia King


SHERRILL – Patricia Male King, Park Terrace, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had been a medical patient for the past three days.
Born in Deposit, on May 27, 1921, she was the daughter of Barna and Madlyn Detrick Male. A resident of Sherrill for the past forty-seven years, Patricia was a graduate of Norwich High School, Class of 1938. She married James F. King, Sr. in Norwich on Aug. 7, 1943. James passed away on Sept. 10, 1997.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, Patricia was employed with Marshall and Houseman, Inc., formerly of Sherrill as an accountant and previously had been employed with John A. Shannon, Accountant and the Ration Board of Chenango County. She was member of the Verona Presbyterian Church, a former member of Zonta International, was active with Verona Elementary Parent-Teachers Association and was a life member and past president of Oneida Elks #767 Auxiliary for the past forty-three years.
Patricia maintained dual memberships in the Order of the Eastern Star, Silver Star Chapter #21 where she served as the current secretary since 1972 and was a Past Matron, serving in 1964 and 1969 and the Order of the Eastern Star, Norwich Chapter #367 for the past sixty-two years and was a Past Matron, having served in 1958. She also served as a District Deputy Grand Matron of the Cortland-Madison District in 1968.
Surviving is one daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Richard Bouchard of Dale City, Va.; two sons, James F. King, Jr. and his companion, Pamela Folmar of Corning and Brian M. King of Sherrill; five grandchildren, Stephen King and Michael King and Michelle Bouchard, Suzanne Bouchard and Elliot Bouchard; one great-grandchild, Madlyn Bouchard.
She was predeceased by a brother Barna Male, Jr. in 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., with Maryann Anderson officiating. Interment will be made in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Patricia and James King Scholarship Fund of the Eastern Star, 330 East Campbell Avenue, Sherrill, NY 13461 or the Shriners Childrens Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, Mass. 01104. Envelopes for these fund may be obtained at the funeral home.
