Lulu Williams


NORWICH – Lulu M. Williams, 74, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009, at Wilson Hospital.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Lowell Shapley, Laura (Wilfred) Rice, Merritt Shapley, Ronald Shapley. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Lisa Williams, Windsor; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John Allen, North Greenbush, grandchildren, John Allen, Laura Allen and Dakota (Koty) Williams; sister, June Ellison; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Marion Shapley; sister-in-law, Anne Shapley, and Erwin and Sue Williams and their children, Laci and Braeden; 17 nieces and nephews. Many thank-yous to her special friends at the Classic Car Museum, Marti Munio, Doreen Bates, Jenny Carpenter, Brenda Rose, Joan Larimer, Genevieve Close, Ginny Clarke, Jim and Nola Robison, Gary Gray, Duane Horton and the many other volunteers that touched her life. We thank you very much.
Lulu graduated from Greene Central School, Class of 1952. She was employed by the Norwich Shoe Factory, Norwich Knitting Mill, Norwich Pharmaceutical, and retired after 17 years from P&G Pharmaceutical. She volunteered for 10 years at the Norwich Northeast Classic Car Museum. She was an avid reader, chaser of garage sales, and a NASCAR fan.
Private services are under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Norwich Northeast Classic Car Museum, 24 Rexford Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
The family wishes to thank Wilson Hospital, 4th Floor Surgical Step Down Unit for their compassionate care.
