Dorothea Brazee


OXFORD – Dorothea M. Brazee, 81, of Oxford, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 15, 2009.
The daughter of Ira and Pearl Lamphere Kellogg, Dorothea was born in Norwich in September of 1927. During her earlier days, she worked for Berglas Manufacturing and as a waitress in several area restaurants. Following her marriage to Francis Brazee, Dorothea became a stay-at-home mom to care for her family, a job which she did well. In 1980, following many years of living in Norwich, the Brazees moved to Oxford, where Dorothea lived until the present.
Dorothea is survived by her children and their spouses: Varley and Karen Brazee and Randy and Lolita Brazee, all of Oxford, Gary and Rhonda Brazee of Norwich, Bernard and Dianne Brazee and Kelvin Brazee, all of Oxford, Margena Neyman of Washington State, Nioaka Brazee, Delilah Isbell of Oxford, Deborah and David Sherboneau of Moravia, and Cindy Brazee of Rose. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, brothers Warren, Wayne, John and David, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothea was predeceased by her husband, Francis, on Feb. 20, 2004; by sons Dale and Stephen; and by brothers Dan, Harold, Lester, Fred, LaVerne “Mike” “Lee” and Robert.
Funeral services for Dorothea will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph Ancafora, Hospice pastoral care coordinator, will officiate. Interment will be in the South Plymouth Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
