Wesley Palmer Sr.


OTSELIC – Wesley R. Palmer Sr., 69, of Route 80, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at his home.
He was born May 4, 1939 in the Town of Otselic, a son of Ralph A. and Florence B. Knapp Palmer and received his education in local schools. On April 17, 1960, Wesley married Barbara Williams in Otselic. She predeceased him on June 14, 2005. Wesley was a self employed truck driver for many years, and later worked for J.B. Hunt of Lowell, Arkansas. He loved gardening, and was an avid sports fan, especially of NASCAR and the Yankees.
Surviving are his children, Wesley R. “Sparky” Jr. and Rebecca Palmer of Georgetown; David E. and Patrina Palmer of Center Lisle; Ginger S. Palmer and Mark Marshall of Georgetown; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Jean Palmer of Alaska; Leslie and Mary Palmer, Merle Palmer, Stanley and Debbie Palmer, all of MO; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from Noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Contributions in his memory may be made to his family to be used according to their wishes.
