Pauline Grasso


GUILFORD – Pauline K. Grasso, 90, most recently of Guilford and formerly of White Stone, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Louis and Maria Jencyik Kinsch, Pauline was born in June of 1918 in Detroit, Mich., but spent her childhood in Manhattan where she attended the Seward Park High School. In New York City, on Aug. 25, 1940, Pauline married John C. Grasso. She and her family relocated to White Stone in 1948, and she spent most of her adult years there before moving to Guilford about two years ago to be closer to her son and his family. Pauline was employed for 25 years by the Eastman Kodak Company in their Manhattan office, where she worked as a secretary.
Pauline is survived by her children and their spouses: John and Dorothy Grasso of Guilford and Louisabeth and Robert Cardillo of Middlesex, N.J.; her grandchildren: Laurel Ann Zeisler and husband Robert, Steven Paul Grasso, Christopher and Melissa Cardillo, Matthew Cardillo and wife Priscilla; and her great grandchildren: James Hernandez, Lindsey Zeisler, Dorothy Rose Zeisler, Trinity Grasso, Justin LaCertosa, and Gabriella and Robert Cardillo. She was predeceased by her husband John, her grandson Anthony Cardillo, her sister Elizabeth, and brother Henry.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Pauline will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Oxford. The Rev. Thomas Ward, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery of Maspeth. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
