NORWICH – Blanche L. Phillips, 86, of Golden Age Apartments, passed away on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Beaver Meadow on April 19, 1922, Blanche was the daughter of Fremont and Mary (Rice) Rickard. On April 11, 1941, in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, she married Claude A. Phillips who passed away on March 22, 2005.
Surviving are four sons, Bradley and Sandra Phillips of Earlville, Gary Phillips and David Phillips of Norwich and Rick and Denise Phillips of Oxford; a daughter, Betty Phillips-Brewer of Norwich; five grandchildren and their wives, Michael and Heather Phillips of Earlville, Valerie Brewer of Binghamton, Ken and Darcy Brewer, Joe Phillips and Thomas Phillips, all of Norwich.  Blanche was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Stone and Bernice Foster Gardner.
A memorial service for Blanche will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at the Wilson Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place at a later date in West Hill Cemetery in Sherburne.
