Eleanor Fasano


 SMYRNA – Eleanor Josephine Fasano, 88, of John Graham Rd., passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
She was born Jan. 22, 1921 in Brooklyn, a daughter of Vincent and Palma Pasquale Palese and received her education in Brooklyn schools. On January 9, 1943, Eleanor married Michael Fasano in Brooklyn. He predeceased her on Dec. 25, 1993. Eleanor had lived on Long Island, and in Orange City, FL for many years. Following her husband’s death, she moved to Smyrna to be with her daughter, also continuing to spend time in Florida. Eleanor was a special person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Fasano was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Sherburne Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and John Grosso of Smyrna; a granddaughter, Laura Grosso of Greenville, NC; a grandson, John Grosso of Smyrna; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter and a son, Laura and Mario Fasano, as well as five sisters and six brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, from St. Malachy’s Church, East State St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in St. Malachy’s Cemetery in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
St. Mary’s Altar & Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
