NORTH NORWICH – Richard L. Walker, 72, of State Highway 12, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at the NYS Veterans’ Home, Oxford, as the result of complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born June 30, 1936 in Norwich, a son of Paul and Iva Northrup Walker. He was a graduate of Norwich High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-58. On November 28, 1958, Richard married Joyce Richardson in Sherburne, a loving union that lasted over 50 years.  Mr. Walker was a cost estimator at B.F. Goodrich in Norwich for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed playing golf and spending the winter months in Winter Garden, Fla.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce; an aunt, Edna Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.; a nephew, Michael Walker of Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Hotaling of Sherburne. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Walker.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Interment will be at the convenience of his family.
