Frank Weinheimer


SCHENEVUS – Frank T. Weinheimer, 94, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009.
He was born Jan. 12, 1915 in Elmsford, the third son of Thomas and Kate (Beirnes) Weinheimer.  The family moved to the Bronx where Frank attended public schools.  He held various jobs in that area in his early years.
In 1969, he purchased the Schenevus Hotel with his son-in-law, Paul.  He also worked for Bresee’s Department Store, a job he loved; then later in 1981 opened the Southside Inn at his residence in Schenevus.
Frank was a former member of the Schenevus Fire Department and current member of the Worcester American Legion and the Schenevus Masonic Lodge.
Frank will most be remembered for his love of life, baseball, and his ability to make people laugh.  He had a thirst for knowledge and a unique personality all his own.  He loved to debate any subject.
His survivors include, his wife of 19 years, June (Hazard)Weinheimer; his daughters, Kathryn (Paul) Neske and Madelyn (Patrick) Milliken; his beloved grandchildren, Paul (April) Neske, Lisa (Steve) Pindar and David Neske, Scott (Mary) Milliken and Kelly (Bill) Rudolph; 13 great-grandchildren; cousins, Isabelle, Mary and John O’Brien, and Dorothy Bowers; nieces, Patti Kunkel and Starr Weinheimer; sisters-in-law, Joan (Carmine) Covais, Susan Whitman, Kathleen Fox and Judy Rubin; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins and in-law’s of his second marriage.
Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Louise (Ferdinand); his brothers, Richard and John and his sister, Edith (stage name, “Zenzi O’Mara”)
Calling hours for Frank will be held at the Schenevus United Methodist Church on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. A Masonic service and then the religious service will be held at noon, followed by a luncheon at the Schenevus Masonic Temple.
