SHERBURNE – Doris V. Hellert, 81, of Stone House Rd., passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at her home.
She was born June 30, 1927 in Queens, a daughter of Arthur and Grace Feeley Hellert and was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens. Doris was a legal secretary to Joseph J. Saladino, Supreme Court Justice in Nassau County until her retirement. In the mid 1980s, to be with her daughter, she moved to Norwich and then to Sherburne. Doris was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving is her daughter, Gayle H. Hellert of Sherburne; several cousins, including Donald and Virginia Schuler of Long Island; their son, Christopher Schuler and his fiancée, Jodi Bouchard of Rhode Island; her best friend, Mikayla Solloway of Sherburne; and her canine companion, Baxter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Malachy’s Church, Sherburne.
Interment will be private.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
