NORWICH – Melody B. Adams, 54, of Norwich, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Burton and Bertha Ruff Benedict, Melody was born in June of 1954 in West Bainbridge. She grew up in the Bainbridge area and was a graduate of the Bainbridge-Guilford School. On Aug. 6, 1983 in the Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich, she married David Adams, who survives. Melody made her home in Norwich for over 25 years and was active in the Chenango Club and its various activities.
Melody is survived by her husband David of Norwich; her sister Dawn Foster of Masonville, Ruth Northrup of New Jersey and Dale Benedict of Walton; her brothers Doug Benedict and his wife Nancy of Bainbridge and Burt Benedict of Masonville. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Sarah Mott of Bainbridge and Connie (Dave) Emerson of Deposit along with several nieces and nephews.
Melody was predeceased by her sisters Rosemary and Doreen and her brother, David.
Memorial services for Melody will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
