Anna Kelly


NORWICH – Anna L. Kelly, 80, former Norwich resident, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 1, 2009 in the Wilson Hospital of Johnson City.
The daughter of Charles and Margaret McClintock Switzer, Anna was born in November of 1928 in Norwich. She grew up in Norwich and was a 1946 graduate of Norwich High School. Deciding to further her education, Anna attended nursing school in New York City, eventually moving back to Norwich and on Dec. 8, 1951, in Norwich, she married Francis Kelly, who passed away Nov. 23, 2000. While living in Norwich, she and her husband owned and operated Kelly’s Bar and Grille. In the early 1970s, Anna moved with her family to the Binghamton area, where she worked for Fowler’s Department Store.
Anna will be remembered by her family as a wonderful mother.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (James) Paoletti of Endwell; her brother, Kenneth Switzer of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Marion Chapel of St. Paul’s Church. The Rev. Douglas Cunningham, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are with the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
