Charles Noble


NORWICH – Charles Louis Noble, 80, of Paris, Arkansas, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at his home in Paris.
Born June 8, 1928 in Newark Valley, Charles was the first son of Daniel A. and Pearl C. Lewis Noble.
Charles attended Plymouth District #6 one room school and then graduated from Norwich High School. Later, he graduated from, New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse University with a B.A. Following his schooling, Charles served his military duty with the U.S. Army in Trieste, Italy.
He spent most of his life in the southern states working for the U.S. Forest Service until he retired. After retirement, he served many years as a forester with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
Charles cared deeply for his family and church. His principled but open mind and an unassuming manner earned him friendship and respect. Since early childhood, Charles was an avid collector of postage stamps. As an amateur archaeologist, he acquired an impressive collection of prehistoric artifacts. He also took much interest in his collection of old coins.
Charles is survived by his wife Yollanda Romario Noble and his six children: Norman Noble of the Philippines, Howard Noble of Calif., Ray Noble of Paris, Ark., Brent Noble of Etna, Ark., Joy Noble of North Little Rock, Ark. and Holly St. Martin of Pierce City, Mo. There are thirteen surviving grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Charles is also survived by his brothers: William of Rice Lake, Wisc., Daniel of South Plymouth and George of Reno, Nev.
Funeral arrangements will be held at a later time at the convenience of the families.
