Levada Mcwilliams


NORWICH – Levada May Pike McWilliams, 82, of North Norwich, passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 22, 2009 in the Gilmour Health Care Facility, where she had made her home for the past year and a half.
The daughter of Bion and Mary Simonson Pike, Levada was born in November of 1926 in Guilford. She attended nursing school in Binghamton, where she met her husband Wilford (Mack) McWilliams. They both worked as nurses in Binghamton and finally settled in New Jersey, where she worked for 27 years at the Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for the state of New Jersey. Levada retired in August of 1986 and moved to North Norwich to be closer to her family. She was a member of the North Norwich Garden Club and volunteered at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Levada is survived by her brother Roger (Ramona) Pike of North Norwich along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Wilford (Mack) McWilliams, her sisters Gertrude Banks and Beatrice Henderson, and her brothers George and Gerald Pike.
A graveside service for Levada will be held in the spring from the Glenwood Cemetery of Afton. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are with the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
