Dorothy Brown


CINCINNATUS – Dorothy Robinson Brown, 79, of Cincinnatus, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City.
Born in South Otselic on Dec. 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Velma Hicks Robinson.  A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member and past treasurer of the German Baptist Church.  She, along with her husband, Noyce, owned and operated the Town and Country Pennysaver in Cincinnatus for several years.
She is survived by her children, Valerie (Michael Charpinsky) Hamlin of Port Crane, Susan (Robert) Carr of Pace, Fla., and Randy (Rita Dunn) Brown of German. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Dickerson, Megan Chasco, David Lee Brown, Michelle Brown, and Sean Luke Brown; her great-grandchildren, Madison Dickerson, newly born Luke Thomas Dickerson, and Ryliegh Brown; a sister, Nora Rogers, of Fredericksburg, Va., a brother, Donald Robinson of South Otselic; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noyce Brown, on Feb. 2, 2005, an infant son, Craig Alan Brown, on March 20, 1952; a brother Gerald Robinson and a sister, Beatrice “Happy” Davis.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus at 1 p.m. Friday with Reverend James Hundley officiating.  Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, South Otselic, at a later date.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m.
