SIDNEY – Marjorie Atkinson, 91, formerly of Sidney, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 at the New York State Veterans’ Home at Oxford. She was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Adolphus and Madeline Lyon Hewell, and was educated in Oneonta schools. In 1955, in Montrose, Pa., she married Robert E. Atkinson. He passed away Jan. 13, 2004. For many years, Mrs. Atkinson was employed with Scintilla in Sidney. She was of the Episcopal faith.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Thomas (Carolyn) Wilson; four grandchildren, Sharene Jones, Patricia Humphrey, Leslie Wilson and Erica Wilson; and great-granddaughter, Hayley Ann Humphrey, all of Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
