NEW BERLIN – Dr. Helen Wargotz, 87, formerly of New York City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 at the Chase Nursing Home in New Berlin.
Born July 17, 1921 in Brooklyn, Helen was the daughter of Louis and Eva (Wajnglas) Wargotz.  She received her education at Columbia University and worked as a social worker for the New York City public schools.
Helen is survived by her sister, Ethel Berman of Norwich, her brother, Dr. Bernard Wargotz of Maryland; nieces, Dr. Mary Jane Berman, Lucy Edelman and Fern Wargotz and nephews, Dr. Erich Wargotz and Michael Wargotz.  She is also survived by her grandnieces, Emma Edelman and Alana Gnivecki as well as her grandnephew, Adam Edelman.
A memorial service for Helen will be held at a later date.  Burial took place in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Flushing.
